Available colours and useful tips
Choosing the right colour(s) is always difficult when it comes to unique gifts. Of course, there are some cases where you don’t have to think about it, because if you want to give a gift in the colours of a sports club or a company logo, for example, the colours are given. But if not, it’s nice to see in one go what colours (materials) are available to choose from. This page will help you to have a look at the current range of colours available for our PLA plastic products. We also give you a few tips on how to choose the colours.

Metallic colours
Metallic colours materials are special materials used in 3D printers that give the printed object a metallic look. They do not usually contain real metals, but metallic powders or metallic pigments are mixed with the plastic to give the printed object a metallic appearance. Although these materials do not have the physical properties of real metals, such as conductivity or weight, they have a similar appearance. A metallic look can be particularly beneficial for unique products where design and aesthetics are important.

Multicolour
Our multicolour materials are special materials used in 3D printers that allow you to create an object in different colours in a single use of material. Their surface has a shiny, silky appearance and is very eye-catching. It is recommended to use them mainly for spatial “bigger” objects, less for flatter ones.

Useful tips
The role of shadows
In 3D products, shadows play a key role in creating a sense of spatial depth and realism. Shadows help to emphasise shapes and spatial structures, making products appear more lifelike. With lighter colours, shadows are more visible, giving a greater sense of space, while with darker colours, shadows "blend" into the colour, making the effect of space less perceptible.
The role of contrast
Colour contrast is of paramount importance in product design, as it affects aesthetics, legibility, and perception. Choosing the right colour contrasts helps to highlight important details. Colour contrast must be appropriate for text and graphics. For example, text in a light colour will be more visible on a dark background, and vice versa.
Using colour contrasts also helps to highlight spatial differences and layers. This can be particularly important when you want to emphasise three-dimensional elements or depth in a product.
The choice of colours and contrasts also has an impact on the mood the product conveys. For example, bright colours and strong contrasts can create a more energetic or attention-grabbing feel, while softer contrasts can create a more relaxed and elegant atmosphere.
